First night out in London town....

I met up with a few girls from SWAP and we headed to Maple Leaf pub for some Canadian nostalgia. When we first arrived it's was quite busy, there was a big football match between Man U and Barcelona, so every pub was packed. We headed to a restaurant for a glass of wine while we waited for the game to end and then headed back to Maple Leaf. Here I had my first beer in the UK and it was a Moosehead! There were a lot of drunk English men there so we didn't stay very long and we then headed to the Roundhouse pub. Here we mingled with some locals as they drowned there sorrows of the loss of Man U. Britain's really do love Canadians, they tried to explain the rules of Cricket and I tried to teach them about baseball.

Eventually the group whittled down to just 2 of us and Ashlee and I tried to find a cab but it was impossible. I convinced a rickshaw drive to take me home, and it was fantastic. We drove right along the Thames, right by Parliament. I'm really loving the neighbourhood I'm living in. All in all a really great night!

Off and running....

It's been a big day, I moved from the hostel to my new flat and I landed a job! I'm the new Recruitment Assistant for Lonely Planet. I can't believe it only took me 2 days to find a job.

When I got ready to leave for London on Monday I was an absolute mess, saying goodbye to my parents and my sister was really tough. Then I found out that my airplane was delayed until the following day and I was actually happy about the delay, I really didn't want to leave. I ended up heading back home and was able to spend a few more hours at home with my parents and my munchkins. Feeling slightly less nervous I got on the airplane but starting to think that it was going to be a short trip instead of a long stay.

As mentioned before I hated the hostel so I found a short stay apartment, and it's perfect. It's quiet, has a full kitchen and everything else I need. It overlooks a very cute garden. So I am spending at least one summer in London, it's going to be interesting to say the least.

I`m Back!

Some how I got it together and I made it happen, I`m back in London. There were a few hiccups along the way including a delay with my work visa but I`m here.

I`m only 2 days in, but I managed to beat jet leg and I have tried my best to be on top of things. 5 hours into hostel life I determined it is not for me. Tomorrow I am moving into a short term flat in Westminster. It`s lovely and much closer to where I want to be in the city. I also have 2 job interviews set up for tomorrow, I have a busy day ahead!

I haven`t had a chance to do any site seeing, true to London`s reputation it has been raining. I`m planning on having much more exciting posts in the near future, I`m off to Ireland next weekend for a visit with Kara. I`m very excited!
