Friday, May 16 - Woke up late once again, I was definitely having a hard time adjusting to London time! I wasn't able to fall asleep before 3am each night which lead getting up either late mornings or early afternoons. Sandra and I thought it would be fun to go on the Hop on, Hop off Red Bus tour. Just as we were about to head out there was a knock on our door - turns out it was Brad, another member of our tour who was also Canadian. Brad has just arrived in London an hour before and was eager to go out and explore - we decided to forgo the bus tour and do our own walking tour instead. We jumped on the tube and headed to out to see as much as we could see. We took in a lot that day - the Tower of London, London Bridge, Tower Bridge, the Monument, St Paul's Cathedral, Thames Battleship, Big Ben, the Court House and Parliament. The only disappointment was that most of the attractions were actually closed because it was so late in the day. We decided to walk back to the RN instead of taking the tube - the 3 of us were quite impressed that we had been able to navigate all the sights and getting home without getting lost. We made our way all the way back to Russell Square - less than a block away from our hotel and subsequently got lost. Somehow we managed to get ourselves onto the the University of London campus and made our way through a few buildings until we eventually found our way out. Afterward we grabbed dinner at London pub and then headed to bed - Brad was exhausted from flying and sight-seeing and Sandra and I had an early morning ahead of us.
